Performance Matters

Since inception in 1995, Performance Plants has taken a market-driven approach in developing next generation biotechnology traits.  The Company’s technology development platform has consistently delivered field tested crop technologies that resulted in partnerships with global seed companies, industrial end-users and farmers – the gatekeepers in the agriculture sector and rapidly expanding clean energy sector.

The Company recently signed an agreement with Bayer CropScience which will see our YPT® drought tolerance technology extend into cotton. YPT® has previously been introduced in corn, soybeans, canola, turfgrass and petunias.

We have also successfully introducing our patented traits into the alternative clean energy sector, striking a deal with Lafarge North America, the world’s leading cement company, to replace coal with locally-grown non-food biomass.

A number of firsts

  • Development of  heat and drought tolerance traits that maximize crop yields that are normally diminished by hot and dry summers.
  • Production of a water use efficiency trait that allows plants to grow with less irrigation or expand their growing range.
  • Targeted to be among the first plant biotech companies to launch commercial Yield and Stress trait technologies which are projected to gain a significant share of the commodity crop and biofuel feedstock markets.
  • Established a four-year partnership agreement in 2008 with Lafarge North America to develop optimized non-food dedicated energy crops.
