Kingston, ON — March 27, 2009 — The Board of Directors of Performance Plants Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Matthewman, MBA, PAg. as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Performance Plants Inc. (PPI).
Peter's appointment signifies a sharpened commercial focus for PPI and
completes a management transition that began four years ago when he
joined the company. Over the past four years Peter has held increasingly responsible positions within the company including Chief Operating Officer and President.
Peter brings extensive experience in agri-business and technology commercialization to his new role. Internationally, he has worked in North America, Europe and Asia with multinational companies.
He is a graduate of the University of Manitoba and the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario (MBA). He serves on the Boards of BIOTECanada, the Crop Development Centre at the University of Saskatchewan and a number of community service organizations.
Peter has assumed full responsibility for leading Performance Plants and ensuring its commercial success. On behalf of the Board of Directors of Performance Plants Inc., we wish him much success in his new role.
The Board also extends its gratitude to Dr. David Dennis FRSC, founder and former CEO of the company. David put enormous effort into leading the company from a start-up to the significant biotechnology operation it is today.
